Gregory J. Fierce is currently Executive Vice President and Director of Commercial Real Estate at Amalgamated Bank. Mr. Fierce is responsible for the Bank's entire nationwide real estate portfolio and currently serves as the Chairman of the Bank's Ultra Fund Investment Committee, a $1.5 billion construction loan fund. Mr. Fierce is a multifaceted results-driven executive with strong background in the areas of Banking, Construction and Real Estate Finance, Capital Markets and Structured Finance. Mr. Fierce has twenty years management experience in commercial real estate; fifteen years as a lender to real estate developers and REIT's; four years in office, retail and industrial real estate leasing and property development. Skilled in credit analysis, loan origination, project finance, mortgaged-backed securities, debt restructuring and cultivating existing and new customer relationships.

From the beginning of his professional career, Mr. Fierce has endeavored to comprehend the dynamics of public/private partnership and its impact on New York City's social and economic success, both historically and in the context of creating a better future. With a Masters Degree in Finance/Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he first put his knowledge and interest into action at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, where he leased office space at the World Trade Center, renegotiated real estate agreements at John F. Kennedy International Airport and managed the development of The Teleport Office Park on Staten Island. With a need to understand the private sector and the real estate capital markets, Mr. Fierce joined the JP Morgan Chase rising to Vice President and Relationship Manager and completing the comprehensive Credit Training Program in corporate finance. During his nearly twelve years at JP Morgan Chase, Mr. Fierce gained extensive knowledge of construction finance, mortgage backed securities, asset backed transactions and real estate structured finance, both debt and equity. This allowed a smooth transition to Washington Mutual Bank as a Senior Vice President and Area Director effectively responsible for a portion of the company's commercial real estate and mortgage securities business (CMBS). While managing the company's real estate depository activities in the Northeast, this allowed for substantial community involvement. Prior to his current tenure at Amalgamated Bank, Mr. Fierce was a Senior Relationship Manager at The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, where he managed several of the bank's largest and most profitable real estate relationships throughout the United States.
