Michael Zahaby

Mr. Zahaby is a "hands on", consultative and accomplished Senior Management Finance Professional with extensive experience in debt markets and risk management. His background was acquired over thirty years in banking and from successfully managing through three economic cycles. His experience extends across banking's value chain, and includes Distressed and Special Situation assets; Leveraged and ABL Finance; credit policies and procedures; loan and process review; extensive debt structuring, and syndications and recapitalization.

Prior to joining Amalgamated Bank, Mr. Zahaby was the Chief Credit Officer of Morgan Stanley Commercial Financial Services, Inc. Prior to that, he served for five and a half years as Chief Credit Officer of Merrill Lynch Business Financial Services, Inc. He also spent seventeen years prior to Merrill, as Senior Vice President and Director of Wachovia Securities, and its predecessor banks. He started his banking career in New York at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company in 1977 where he was formally credit trained.

Mr. Zahaby has an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration from the Fisher School of Business at the Ohio State University.

Mr. Zahaby is Treasurer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Colon Cancer Alliance. He is fluent in French, Arabic and Italian. Michael enjoys running, squash, tennis, golf, the arts, classical music and opera, history of the US Civil War, and travel. He resides in New York City with his wife Cary Barbor.
