Frank Marsicano
Business Development Officer
Frank Marsicano, a banker with nearly two decades of financing and credit analysis experience, joined Amalgamated Bank in 2011 as a First Vice President and Business Development Officer for Amalgamated Capital (AmalCap). Mr. Marsicano reports to Executive Vice President Robert Love, who heads the AmalCap Division, which provides both leveraged cash flow-based and asset-based financing to support investments made by private equity sponsors.
Primarily, he will represent Amalgamated Capital in transactions involving cash flow-based senior secured financing to support investments made by private equity sponsors in lower middle-market companies. Mr. Marsicano is also responsible for building relationships between the Bank and firms seeking asset-based lending or equipment financing.
Immediately prior to his current position, Mr. Marsicano was a Vice President, Portfolio Management, with New York-based Webster Business Credit Corporation, underwriting direct and indirect asset-based loans. His responsibilities included monitoring direct transactions involving more than $100 million in commitments. He tracked day-to-day activity and took action to anticipate potential credit issues.
From 2006 to 2010, he served as a Vice President in CIT Group’s Credit Risk Management and Commercial and Industrial loan underwriting units. His duties included analyzing the credit risk exposure in the firm’s $52 billion commercial loan and lease portfolio with a primary focus on asset based and cash flow transactions. He also underwrote transactions ranging in size from $15 to $300 million. Situations included asset based and cash flow recapitalizations and refinancing.
For eight years prior to that, he was an Assistant Vice President, Portfolio Management, with AmSouth Corporation. Earlier in his career, Mr. Marsicano had held banking positions with U.S. Trust and Bank of New York.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in 1991 from Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY, majoring in marketing and international business and is a member of the Commercial Finance Association of New York.
