Senior Underwriter and Portfolio Manager

Mr. Wallace is a Senior Underwriter and Portfolio Manager at Amalgamated Capital (AmalCap) with expertise in developing flexible capital solutions, managing portfolios, and underwriting. He also brings to AmalCap proven expertise in asset-based lending, credit analysis, debt restructuring, and field exams of assets.

Prior to joining AmalCap, he served as Senior Vice President and Team Leader at Capital One Leverage Finance Corp for eight years. Among his primary responsibilities was the management of a portfolio compiled of asset-based credit facilities with commitments ranging from $10 to $30 million.

As a portfolio manager, he assessed financial and collateral trends, ensured covenant compliance, responded to key findings in field exams and appraisals, and validated risk ratings. His responsibilities also included the preparation and presentation of monthly trends cards, account reviews, amendments, and renewals.

Prior to Capital One, he held portfolio positions at PNC Business Credit Corporation and Transamerica Business Capital Corporation. During his 4 years with these organizations, he managed portfolios of direct accounts, including problem loans, and worked with clients and agent banks in the restructuring of credit arrangements.

From 1994 to 2000, he held the position of Vice President and Account Manager at IBJ Whitehall Business Credit Corporation, after spending 6 years with The Bank of New York, where he began his career in financial services and rose to the level of Vice President and Audit Manager.

Mr. Wallace earned an MBA from the Adelphi School of Management and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance at State University of New York – Utica/Rome. He is a member of Commercial Finance Association’s chapter in New York.
