Amalgamated Bank Goes Hollywood By Supporting the Making of “The Avengers” Movie
Amalgamated Bank is getting creative in new ways with its behind-the-scenes role in the making of Marvel Studio’s The Avengers movie.
Most of the movie about the Super Hero team of a lifetime was shot at Albuquerque Studios in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The state-of-the-art studio was constructed with financing provided by Amalgamated’s LongView Funds. The LongView ULTRA Construction Loan Fund’s lending policy required that contractors use 100 percent union labor to build the studio.
About 500 local workers from the area were employed to make the movie, and these workers are expected to continue to be employed as the huge studio keeps making films. The key to its attractiveness is the studio’s unusual size, which provides the capability to meet audiences’ demand for dazzling visuals achieved through spectacular set designs and unbelievable stunts.
