Stephanie Parker Appointed Amalgamated’s Chief Credit Risk Officer
Amalgamated Bank recently appointed Stephanie Parker to the position of Chief Credit Risk Officer. Ms. Parker, also named as an Executive Vice President, reports directly to Amalgamated’s President and CEO Edward Grebow.
She comes to Amalgamated from JP Morgan Chase & Co., where she served as Executive Director of that bank’s Special Credits Group. During her 17 year career at Chase, she held a number of senior level positions managing credit risk.
As Senior Credit Risk Officer in the Special Credits Group since 2008, Ms. Parker managed a multi-billion dollar portfolio of stressed and distressed corporate credit exposures that included loans, letters of credit and derivatives. In that role, she successfully led in- and out-of-court restructurings across a range of industries. In one notable undertaking, she directed the rescue of a significant investment, for which she won the 2010 Large Company Turnaround of the Year Award for creating an innovative fee structure and restructuring strategy that attracted new investors.
For four years prior to her most recent assignment at JP Morgan Chase, she served as head of Credit Risk Management, overseeing a multi-billion dollar healthcare industry portfolio. Earlier she had been a Vice President in the Special Credits Group, a Vice President in Corporate Lending, and an Associate in the bank’s Asset Based Products Group.
Ms. Parker began her career as a Certified Public Accountant with KPMG, and she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Rutgers College, New Brunswick, NJ.
