AB Remote Deposit Capture will process most personal and business U.S. checks and postal money orders. Checks from Canada and other foreign countries must be deposited traditionally.
Can AB Remote Deposit Capture actually save me money?
Yes. It cuts costs in courier service and trips to the bank. Also, if you manage several DDA accounts, you can close accounts at the other banks and save money on account maintenance fees.
Do I have to make deposits by 3 p.m. the way I do at the branch?
No. Deposits can be captured and processed electronically to the account at your convenience.
When will the deposit be credited to my account?
Deposits are posted to your account the same day if transmitted to the Bank by 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time at East Coast locations, or 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time at California and Nevada (opening Fall 2007) locations. Deposits transmitted after specified times will be posted on the next business day.
Where do I get the check scanner? How big is it?
Your relationship manager will help you select a scanner. It is a tabletop device, 6.88” high, 5.43” wide, and 10.39” long.
What do I do with the original check?
Original checks should be stored securely for the retention period and then destroyed.
Can I see what's happening in real time?
Yes. Administrators, supervisors and individuals already in charge of manually preparing deposits will be able to view images/deposits before transmitting.
Is AB Remote Deposit Capture safe?
AB Remote Deposit Capture features multiple layers of security including multifactor authentication, password protection, Internet firewalls and 128-bit encryption — the highest level of security available.
How do we prevent checks from being scanned twice?
The software has duplicate detection tools built in to detect items already scanned. If the software detects potential duplicates, an alert prompts you to make a decision about the items in question.
Are the check images stored permanently on my local computer?
Unless you select to store the images on your hard drive, they reside there temporarily.
